Grinch Dressing & Gravy

Whollo (Who-lo) blog world! Last night I received what was by far the best Birthday gift I’d gotten this year! My Birthday supper at the happiest place on earth and no I don’t mean Disneyland. The happiest place on earth in my opinion is Spirit of Newfoundland! My mom and I were there to see their Christmas show “Grinch, Dressing & Gravy”. A Newfoundland… or should I say Whofoundland adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss tale.

I was Cindy-Lou Who for Halloween several years ago so I decided to wear the costume again last night. It’s a really pretty light blue dress with white furry cufflinks. Mom did my hair like a Who too. I looked really cute! A lot of my friends at Spirit thought so too. That made me smile! I also decided to give out some Christmas cards. It’s mid November but I thought it would a nice gesture. It was after all their Christmas show I was going to see! My co-worker Colleen told me after I’d given her her card that I could go into the kitchen and backstage to give out the rest of my cards. I thought it was so cool I got to do that!

When I entered the kitchen I asked if Darrell (Spirit’s chef) was there so I could give him his card. Colleen told me that Darrell was done and introduced me to the new chef. I was happy to met him but yet sad that Darrell was gone. I really liked him. His food was really yummy and he was a really nice guy. He made me smile! I know for a fact that my Spirit friends will see this so if you see him again please say hello to him for me and tell him that his ducky misses him (he always called me his ducky. I thought that was sweet.) Later  I met with Peter Peter Halley in the bar to give him a gift I’d bought for him (I bought gifts for all three of my bosses.) He loved my outfit and said that I was very thematic. That was nice of him. He loved the gift too. He jokingly told me to stop!

Pretty soon our appetizer came out. A cream of broccoli soup. I was skeptical about it at first and wasn’t sure if I would like it. I like trying new things so I gave it a go and I did like it! It was yummy. So much so that I ate all of it. I was happy that I tried a new food and enjoyed it.

Before the main course I went downstairs into the boardroom to see the cast and give them their Christmas cards. Dana was putting Peter’s makeup on. I thought he (as usual) looked great! Dana is a good makeup artist. I gave her and Keith their Christmas cards and they both really liked them! I was glad they did. Evan the pianist in the show loved the gingerbread flavored candy cane that I taped to the card. I was glad about that too. It made me smile seeing everyone so happy with their cards.

When I returned to my table my meal had arrived. I ordered cod. I thought it tasted good. It came with mashed potatoes, mashed turnip, broccoli and carrot. The vegetables were all very good too. It was a nice meal. I was quite impressed with the new chef’s skills.

After the meal the show began. To start Michael Power Michael came out as the narrator of the story. Watching the Grinch is a Christmas Eve family tradition at our house so I have the movie pretty much memorized. I was able to (silently) say most of Michael’s opening lines along with him! Inside a snowflake, like the one on your sleeve there happened a story you must see to believe etc. What I thought was cool was that Whoville was in Newfoundland… I mean Whofoundland and of course Labwhodoor! I can’t remember exactly where though. After Michael’s little opening bit some more Who’s came out and sang. I loved how they all looked! Bright colored clothes and rosy cheeks. They were fabulous! I loved what Dana Parsons Dana had on. I wonder if it comes in my size?  Mallory Johnson, Sandra Sandoval and Keith Power Keith also played Who’s. All but one of them was happy and full of wholiday cheer. Little Cindy-Lou (played by Mallory Johnson) was not at all enthusiastic while she sang. While her Mom Martha May Who (Sandra Sandoval) and her mom’s fiancée Mayor Homer Who (Keith Power) were all excited about Farkle Sparkles and Ball Danglers and such she wasn’t. She found the whole idea of Christmas superfluous. Later after talking with her mom she sang “Where Are You Christmas“. I thought it was beautiful! I’d never heard Mallory sing before and was floored by her voice. She’s a lovely singer. Martha sang a song too but I can’t remember what it was called. I really like Sandra’s voice. She too is a lovely singer.

When we got to see the Grinch I burst out laughing! The reason why is because his pants were unzipped and his “manhood” was showing LOL Grinch! Peter looked really cool as the Grinch. He played him really well too. He always does a really good job of playing villains. I enjoyed when he sang “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch“. It sounded really cool! He added in a few new bits to the song. I can’t remember many of his add ons but I do remember him calling himself a dirt bag LOL! In the movie his dog was a boy but last night he had a girl dog. Maxine. Dana Parsons played her. I loved her costume. She looked adorable! She had a really cute little howl too. Poor thing made the Grinch really mad at her. All she was trying to do was cheer him up a bit about the wholidays but he wouldn’t have any of it. He threatened to spay her with his switchblade if she wouldn’t shut up LOL! To end off the first scene I don’t know the name of the song but he sang a song about how he wasn’t all that bad. He was just lonely. It was a very emotional song and Peter sang it really well. I felt bad for the Grinch.

My favorite part of the first act was the skeets! They’re becoming recurring characters in Spirit’s shows and I love it when I get to see them! Michael, Dana and Keith are hilarious skeets! They were all gathered around having a smoke and Michael once again blew my mind blowing his smoke rings (I think it’s so cool how he’s able to do that) and they decided to have a game of “Boggers”. How that works is you need a few people to play it and you say “Boggers on you, 123, insert dare here” and the person you dared has to do whatever you dared them to do. Dana dared Michael to go up and bug the Grinch. He wouldn’t do it, she wouldn’t do it and Keith wouldn’t either. Eventually they got up the nerve to do so. They sang a funny song about pissing off the Grinch and trying to send him back to Toronto LOL! They suspect that maybe he’s from Toronto and is a Leafs fan. Maybe that’s why he’s so grinchy. Anyway in the next scene it was hysterical when Michael came out on stage going “ohmygeezohmygeezohmygeez!” He was petrified after going up on Mount Crumpett with his skeet pals. The Grinch chased after them! His plan was to make the Grinch poop his pants but that backfired because he did instead LOL!

The Grinch decided to steal Christmas by making some phone calls. He called up Purity factories to buy up all their products, Whominion to buy all the turkeys at every location and he got a bunch of bugs to eat up all the Christmas trees so all they’d have were the “prissy” ones from Nova Scotia that weren’t any good. He must be quite rich having all the money to do that!

There were a few whofie (a Who Newfie) girls in the first act too having a conversation on the phone. Sandra and Dana played them. One of them was named Suze and I can’t remember what the other ones name was. Their Newfie accents were funny! Dana’s characters hair made me laugh too! It was this HUGE blonde hairdo LOL Who!

After the first act was desert. Spirit of Newfoundland’s screech cake. It’s absolutely delicious! It tastes like Christmas. It came with some screech carmel sauce, whipped cream, custard and I think raspberry sauce to dip the cake in. They tasted good too. I hadn’t had any in a long time and had been craving a piece since I wrote a descriptive essay about it in writing class at school LOL! I was happy to get a piece last night.

To start off the 2nd act is the “Who In” (their version of a Screech In) ceremony. We knew in the first act that for the 5th year in a row Martha May had been elected Who In Queen. They sang a parody of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” about her and threw in some product placement for Good Luck Margarine (an old brand of margarine that was made here in Newfoundland.) I really liked it! I danced to it in my seat! Mayor Homer Who won Who In King again this year. I think he wins it every year. Cindy Lou Who was upset with this and felt that they should give someone else a chance so title of Who In King goes to the Grinch! The pink crown they gave him to wear was cute! I think it looked good on him. Unfortunately the Grinch got upset when he saw Martha May Who was the Who In Queen and got mad at the Who’s thinking that they set this up and were playing a trick on him. He stormed off and kept the crown LOL!

Also in act two the Grinch went Mummering! He put on a cape and went off the mountain to mess with the who’s a bit. He practiced in front of Maxine and she thought he wasn’t too good and didn’t give him a drink like you’re supposed to give Mummers. Since Maxine wouldn’t give him a drink he went to the nearest table, poured some water into one of their glasses and drank from it LOL! Then he burped in the guests faces! After this he meets Cindy-Lou Who for the first time. He’s really surprised that she’s not afraid of him. She in fact shares his Christmas hating ideal.  My favorite part of this scene was when she sang “Do You Wanna Build A Snowman“. I thought it was so sweet! The ending was funny. He yelled at her no and she said “Ok b’y!” LOL!

Later on the Whofie girls were back and having another conversation on the phone. This time they had a “3 way” with their friend Pat. Michael played her. He was hilarious as a girl! He looked really funny too Pat! Michael is very versatile. He can play any role and do it really well!

I loved the scene where the Grinch came to steal Cindy-Lou’s tree. As we know from the book she got out of bed for a cup of cold water. The Grinch had to think up a lie quickly and this is what he came up with. “Sarah McLachlan loves her seal skin boots.” LOL! Then he came up with a better one. There’s a light on the tree that won’t light up just right. Cindy-Lou believed the Grinch. The narrator said that the Grinch patted Cindy-Lou on the head, got her a drink and then sent her to bed. Because the Grinch didn’t have any water to give Cindy-Lou he took a bottle of Blue Star beer from a nearby table to give to her LOL!

The ending of the story is my favorite part. The Grinch’s heart grows 3 sizes! Also I won’t say what it is and spoil the show for you but there’s a major plot twist! I will give you a hint though. It involves a night spent at the Whovelon Mall parking lot in the back of a Jetta (I think). I thought it was a cute way to end the show. After the plot twist the Who’s and the Grinch celebrated Christmas together! They sang Christmas carols! “Welcome Christmas” was beautiful! It made me smile. The cast did a wonderful job of singing it. Mallory sang “Christmas Time Is Here” and I thought that was beautiful too. Michael sang “Go Tell It On The Mountain” and it was stunning! I was kind of hoping they’d find a way to squeeze this song in because Michael does a fantastic job of singing it. I was happy they did! The whole cast eventually joined in and it was awesome! I couldn’t resist putting my hand up in praise for a little bit during the song!

Once the show was finally done I stood up and gave them a standing ovation. They deserved it after putting off such a phenominal show! I remained standing for the singing of “Spirit of Newfoundland”, an absolutely beautiful song that Peter wrote that they sing at the end of every show. I always look forward to hearing that song. It’s lovely. Once that was sung Keith handed Peter a piece of paper and he gave shout outs to people in the audience. The companies that had come tonight for their company Christmas party and friends of theirs in the audience. I was happy when Peter mentioned my table! After talking for a little bit Peter said that a friend and co-worker of theirs celebrated a Birthday a few days ago. My face lit up and I smiled from ear to ear! I was thrilled that my Birthday was acknowledged. Even more thrilled that everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to me! That made my night.

After the show I got pictures with the cast members. Peter still had his makeup on! I was hoping he would. Peter and I! Here are the others I took Sandra Dana and Me Mallory and ME Michael and Keith. I think we all look absolutey whotiful (see what I did there)!

I had such a wonderful time last night! I highly reccommend seeing this show! Click here to view Spirit’s calendar and availlable dates to see the show. Also be sure to check out their Christmas Luncheon starting December 2nd. It features the wonderful duo of Peter Halley and Shelley Neville singing Christmas carols backed by a jazz trio. I have my reservations made! Do you? Happy wholidays everyone!

My Birthday Party 2014

Hey blog world! I turned 17 on Thursday! I had my party last night. It was a lot of fun! Since I’m such a huge fan of Broadway musicals I decided that this year I’d have a Broadway theme dance party. I wanted all the guests to come dressed up as a character from a musical. I was going to be Elphaba from “Wicked” Elphaba but as I was browsing the witch costumes in the Halloween store out of the corner of my eye I spotted an adorable black flapper dress. My mind changed right then and there and I decided to be Velma Kelly from “Chicago” Velma instead. My parents didn’t want to dress up but I managed to talk them into it. They were Christine Daae Christine Daae and the Phantom of the Opera Phantom of the Opera. My Niece was Jan from “Grease” Jan.

When I arrived at the party there were a few people there waiting outside. I was glad to see my friends. I was happy they were able to come and celebrate with me. Especially my friend Samantha. She and I go way back. We had a book club under the slide at summer camp years and years ago! We went to the same Jr. High and High School too. She graduated last year and I missed her. I was really happy that she made it.

On the invitation I asked that people come in costume as a character from a musical. There would be prizes for the best costumes. Not everyone wore one but those who did looked amazing! I found it so hard chosing winners for the costume contest! Eventually prize time rolled around and I had to chose. I gave 3rd prize to my friend dressed as Fred Astaire Glen, 2nd prize to my friend dressed as Glinda from “Wicked” Laura and 1st prize to my friend dressed as a cat from “Cats” Katie.

Once again I hired my friend Heather to be my DJ. She played lots of great showtunes for us to dance to! “Love Is An Open Door” from “Frozen”, “Time Warp” from “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Bop To The Top” from “High School Musical”. She played some really pretty slow songs too like “Memory” from “Cats” and “All I Ask Of You” from “Phantom of the Opera”. She played songs that weren’t from musicals too like “All About That Bass” and “Wagon Wheel“. My friends and I all loved the songs that were played and had a great time dancing!

When it was time for pizza and cake I was happy to eat the pizza because it’s pizza! Who doesn’t like pizza? As for the cake I actually kind of didn’t want to eat it! The reason being it looked so firetrucking incredible! When I saw it for the first time yesterday afternoon I was floored! I couldn’t think of any words to say! I just stood there in awe looking at it with my jaw dropped! This is what it looks like Cale!!! Underneath it’s mesmerizing decoration is red velvet. My favorite kind of cake! It tasted really really yummy!

Soon it was time for presents. I was really pleased with everything I’d gotten. I got dozens of cards. I was really impressed because a lot of them were hand made. I love it when I get hand made cards. It means a lot more than a store bought one and it really shows that the sender cares because they took the time to draw a special card. I got loads of money in the cards! I know exactly what I’ll be spending some of that on. A new photo album to put my cards in (the one I have is full). I got dozens of gift cards too! With all this money and gift cards I can go on a huge shopping spree! I also got a 1000 piece jungle safari puzzle, a Best Buddies Christmas CD and a sock monkey. She has puzzle pieces all over her! I named her Annette. She’s really cute.

At the end of the night I was super exhausted from all the dancing. It was such a fun night and I’m glad that everyone who came enjoyed themselves. Thanks again to everyone for coming!

My Heroes

Hey blog world! Kid President is one of my favorite YouTubers. His videos are awesome! A while ago he posted a pep talk for heroes. Everyday people who do extraordinary things! I shared that video on my facebook page and tagged some of my heroes in it. I thought I’d also acknowledge and thank them in a blog post!

My neurotypical (normal) friends Bethany, Allison, Laura, Emma and Peter Peter Halley. Simply put thank you for being my friend. I’m not accepted by very many neurotypical people. They don’t understand that I’m a person just like them! I’m glad that you 5 do. Thank you for looking past my differences and difficulties and accepting me for who I am. Thank you for the hugs, advice, inside jokes and fun we’ve shared. It makes me and my heart very happy that instead of being non acceptant and putting me down you chose me as a friend.

My youth leaders Sara and Robert and Pastor Jeff. When I’m having a problem and need to talk or pray with someone I’m glad I can count on you. Thank you for showing me God’s love!

My parents. Thank you for everything! I love you both and know you both love me. I know I can be a bit of a hard case sometimes so thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for all the advice you’ve given me throughout the years. Thank you for being there for me through the tough times. There are millions of things I could thank you for! I couldn’t ask for better parents.

Who are your heroes and why? Tell me in the comments!

Story Time with Doctor Who and Gilbert Goat

Hey blog world! On Facebook I posted a picture that challenged my friends to create a story in the comments by posting 2 words at a time. It’s quite weird. This is the story we came up with. I call it “Gilbert Goat’s Crazy Day”

Once upon a mountain a goat that was playing piano fell off and landed in a ditch and then his money fell into a pile of mud. Then I put the goat’s head on a pillow to sleep. But then it snored and made a loud noise that woke the cat up and the cat said “Go to the store.” So the goat did a jig and skipped down the stairs and then he fell down on his hooves and had to sing songs with a strange doctor from Gallifrey. He is an imortal.

He liked the goat so he took him up a ladder to the top of a really big TARDIS and left the century and the goat was left behind until Doctor Who ate Rose because she tasted good and hated the goat. That hurt her feelings when he ate her. That made her feel strange because she was not very awesome but yet she was yummy like spinach.

The Daleks jumped into a pot of boiling water to exterminate the goat because he said that Rose was ugly and gross like a bad goat who had smelly feet, so the Daleks decided to start to punish the goat named Gilbert by making an apple pie with a CyberDanny that made him have feelings. A racetrack appeared and broke the TARDIS. Then Osgood took away the apple pie, but then it exploded and caused an avalanche. It destroyed the goat and daleks but nobody cared.

The end! As I said it was a weird story but that’s why I like it! On your Facebook or Twitter or whatever you have challenging your friends or followers to create a story two words at a time in the comments and see what kind of story you come up with! Have fun!

Trio #4

Hey blog world! Today’s daily post is called Trio #4

Today you can write about anything, in whatever genre or form, but your post must include a speeding car, a phone call, and a crisp, bright morning. (Wildcard: you can swap any of the above for a good joke.)

I used to like snow. When I was young I liked going outside and riding my sled, having snowball fights, making snow angels and building snowmen. In the recent years I’ve had some bad experiences with snow so I’m not at all happy that it’s almost winter and it will soon be back! I don’t firetrucking want it!

Last winter was absolutely brutal! I hated #DarkNL! The rolling blackouts were so annoying. Also we got a very late spring (screw you Mr. Groundhog) because it wouldn’t stop snowing! I wanted warm weather and flowers not more snow!

My worst snow experience was 3 years ago. I’ve since been nervous when me and/or my parents have gone for a drive in snowy, icy weather. 3 years ago on a crisp, bright afternoon (close enough I think) my parents had a party to go to so I had to spend the night at my Aunt’s house. We dropped my niece off at a Birthday party then went on to my Aunt’s. About halfway there my Dad slid on a patch of ice causing him to speed into the oncomming traffic, he hit someone’s car, spun around and then hit the same car again! I don’t remember much about what happened next because it happened so fast but I do remember hearing a big bang, shattering glass and then my Dad shouted a curse word. I had a massive headache! I was also petrified! I’d never been in such a serious accident before. Mom’s head hit the passanger side window and broke it and Dad got some lascerations from the seat belt and as I jokingly say some “fashion damage”. He ripped his favorite leather jacket and got blood on his denim shirt. Because I was so scared for my family and the people in the other car I broke down crying. We were quite lucky because our accident was right in front of the fire station! The firemen ran out to help us. One of the passangers in the other car made a phone call to 911 to get an ambulance for us. I was so scared I was shaking so Mom put her arm around me and lead me inside the station and the firemen introduced themselves to me and did their best to help me calm down. Eventually when the medics came I was even more scared! I don’t do well in situations where they have to get involved. They too introduced themselves to me and I can’t remember why but they wanted to take my blood. I got even more upset because I don’t like needles! They hurt! One of the medics talked to me a bit about music and I found she too was a fan of Keith Urban. It felt slightly comforting knowing we shared that interest. I got a bit jealous of her because she said she had tickets to his concert LOL! It was a pretty bad rendition because I was still panicky and crying but as best I could to take my mind off the bloodwork I sang “Maybe” from “Annie”. Soon when the medics were all done checking us over and were ready to leave they asked me who I wanted to go with. I said “The fire trucks are cooler” but they weren’t going so I had to chose between Mom and Dad. I wanted Mom but the medics thought it would be best if I went with Dad because Mom was a bit more seriously hurt so I did.

The ambulance ride was ok. I told Dad and the medic what I’d done at youth the night before and we had a few laughs. I hope that that was my first and last ride! When we got to the hospital since I was fine and didn’t need to be seen by a doctor they showed me a spot to sit down and wait so I sat there with my kobo and read “A Smile As Big As The Moon”. The whole time even though I was enjoying my book (it’s an excellent read. I highly reccommend it) I was still really worried about Mom and Dad and if they’d be ok. I don’t know how long I was sat there reading but it felt like hours! Eventually they both came back out and I was so relieved to see them again.

The next morning when I woke up I felt so lucky to be alive! I felt lucky that everyone was alive! My family and I and everyone in the other car (the unborn baby in that car especially!) I don’t know what I would do if I had lost one or both of my parents in that accident. I’m so glad I didn’t.

I know that it has to come, it’s part of nature but I really wish snow didn’t exist! Either that or Newfoundland could be one of those parts of the world that doesn’t get snow! That way there would be no more terrible accidents on the road!

Now it’s your turn! Write a post about whatever you want but make sure to include a crisp, bright morning, a phone call and a speeding car. Have fun!

Hey blog world! Last night I saw an absolutely phenominal show! My Best Buddy Allison and I saw Kelly-Ann Evans do a tribute to Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Elvis and Queen. Kelly-Ann is such a big ball of energy and I love watching her perform! It was amazing being in the front row and seeing the show!

She started off with my favorite out of the 4, Rod Stewart! I was so happy that she did! Kelly-Ann is quite the fashionista. I always look forward to seeing what outfits she’ll have on at her shows! If looks could kill then the whole audience would have dropped dead right then and there. She had on an adorable leopard print dress! She opened with my favorite Rod Stewart song “Young Turks“! It’s such a fun song! Another fun one is “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy“. I had a blast disco dancing in my seat LOL! Steve Power was in the show with her and I was really glad to see him performing. It’s been a year since I last did but it feels like it’s been even longer! He sang “Tonight’s The Night” and it was wonderful! Steve always does a lovely job singing slow songs. Kelly-Ann too. She sang “Have I Told You Lately” and it was really pretty! With 4 legends being tributed in the show she couldn’t of course fit all of Rod’s songs in but I thought it was too bad she didn’t do “The Killing of Georgie“, “Hot Legs” or “Baby Jane“. Oh well!

Next up was MJ. Before Kelly-Ann the MC of the show J-LAC from K-Rock came out dressed up in this unexplainable, slightly nerdy outfit, fake glasses and an afro LOL! He talked about Weird Al and MJ. It was funny! Then Kelly-Ann came back on stage and opened the MJ set with “Bad” (I think). She had dancers with her this time! They blew me away! They had some pretty sweet moves. She also had a choir. The Mount Pearl Show Choir to be exact. They were amazing as well. My favorite song they sang with Kelly-Ann was “Man In The Mirror“. All those beautiful voices blending together was magical! The most awesome part of the show was when Adam Staple who played the drums rapped! He did the rap part in “The Girl Is Mine” (I think) and it was so cool! He was really good at it!

After the intermission J-LAC came out in a blue shirt, shorts, sandals, sunglasses and a lei. Blue Hawaii! I knew Elvis would be next. I was hoping he would be too so I was glad he was. Kelly-Ann opened this set with a medley of Elvis songs “See, See Rider“, “Hound Dog“, “Jailhouse Rock” and several others. I loved it! I also loved Kelly-Ann’s outfit. The one she wore for the Elvis set was my favorite out of the 4. She had on a really cool white and red sequined jumpsuit! While I really like Elvis’s fast songs my favorite part of this set were the slow ones. Steve sang “Love Me Tender” and I was trying not to cry! Same thing when Kelly-Ann sat down at the piano and sang “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You“. It’s one of my favorite Elvis songs and Kelly-Ann did such a beautiful job of singing it!

The last legend to be tributed was Queen. J-LAC’s outfit was quite disturbing for this one. He was shirtless, wearing a pink scarf and white and black pants. That image is still in my head and I really wish it wasn’t! Anyway Kelly-Ann started this segment with “Another One Bites The Dust“. It was awesome! It was also awesome when Steve sang “Crazy Little Thing Called Love“. He sings that song really well (I’d heard him do it before at Kelly-Ann’s Queen tribute show a few years ago.) Another choir came out to help Kelly-Ann in this set! It was still the Mount Pearl Show Choir but it must have been the older group. When I saw Jeremy Wells walk out on stage I fangirled a little! Jeremy is such a talented performer! He was amazing in “Do You Hear The People Sing” (a benefit concert for Atlantic Light Theatre’s production of “Les Misérables” last year) and of course in “Les Misérables”. He was once again amazing tonight! As were the rest of the members of the choir. They helped with “Somebody To Love“, “We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions” and the incredible encore of “Bohemian Rhapsody“. Everyone in the show sang that one and it sounded as I said incredible! It was a great way to end the show! Once it was over I stood up and gave them a much deserved standing ovation!

As me and Allison were leaving the auditorium a couple stopped us and told me that they thought I should have been up on stage dancing! They thought I was the star of the show! They were enjoying themselves watching me enjoy myself. I was quite flattered that they said that. It made me smile. Then Allison and I headed out into the lobby to see if I could find Jeremy, Kelly-Ann and Steve and get pictures with and talk to them. We waited for a long time and neither appeared. Eventually the saxophonist (whose name I have forgotten) came out and I told him that I thought he did a great job and I asked him if Kelly-Ann was still here. He said she was but he wasn’t sure if she’d be coming out. He went back to see and shortly after he came back over to me and said “She asked for me to bring you back.” That was so cool! It’s once in a blue moon I’ve gotten to go backstage at the ACC so it was awesome I got to do so again last night! When I got backstage and saw Kelly-Ann she gave me a big hug! I loved that. Kelly-Ann said she loved seeing me in the front row. If she forgot the words she could just look down and I’d be there to help! I knew all the words to the songs! She even said she loved my Halloween costume (Wayne from “Wayne’s World”.) I was glad she did. Then we got a picture together! After talking to her I asked if Steve was still around so I could get a picture with and talk to him. She said she wasn’t sure so she brought me back farther to see. We found him! It was great getting to see him again and chat for a bit and get a picture with him too. It’s not often I’m back there so I don’t know the way out. Thankfully Steve helped us figure out the way. When we got outside I hugged Allison goodbye and walked to my Dad’s car. I had such a great time with her at the show! She really enjoyed herself too and I’m happy she did. Kelly-Ann, Steve and everyone else in the show you’re all legends and you absolutely rocked us last night! I can’t wait to see what Kelly-Ann has in store next! Were you at the show last night or Friday night? What did you think? Tell me in the comments!

Let It Be

Hey blog world! Today’s daily post is “Let It Be”

A restaurant that removed your favorite item from the menu, a bad cover of a great song… Write a post about something that should’ve been left untouched, but wasn’t. Why was the original better?

As some of you probably know Will Smith has done a remake of “Annie” and it’s due out in theatres next month

Annie 2

I am not ok with this! I’ve seen the trailler and heard some of the songs and all I have to say is SCREW YOU WILL SMITH!!! LEAVE “ANNIE” ALONE! “Annie” is my FAVORITE movie! I’ve seen it over a million times and it never gets old. I know all the words to all the songs and everything! It’s such an adorable movie that makes me cry everytime I watch it. I am not at all pleased with what Will Smith has done to it! First of all there was absolutely no need to change Daddy Warbucks to Benjamin Stacks. No need! Also Annie is now a foster kid. That also didn’t need to change! Don’t even get me started on the songs! He’s taken “Tomorrow” and autotuned it and turned it into a pop song! You don’t do that! “Tomorrow” is a classic and beautiful song full of inspiration and hope. It shouldn’t have been autotuned! I’ve heard bits of some of the others so far and I’m really not impressed. This “Annie” remake really shouldn’t have happened! Disney tried it in 1999 and did a really bad job so Will Smith shouldn’t have jumped on the “Annie” remake bandwagon and tried his hand at it! Nothing can compare to the amazing original “Annie”! I’m going to see Will Smith’s remake just to give it a fair chance and laugh at it but I’m quite certain I won’t be leaving the theatre fully dressed (by that of course I mean I won’t be smiling). What’s something you think should have been but wasn’t left untouched? Tell me in the comments or blog about it!
