50 Songs To Listen To Forever

Hey blog world! I couldn’t think of what to write about so I decided to go to http://dayzeroproject.com/battle/ for some inspiration. I once again went to the idea battle and one of my choices was to make a list of 50 songs I could listen to forever. I thought it would be fun to blog about so here they are!

#49 “Trees” by Tripod http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuDGBkifNC4: This song will never get old! The line “Trees get chained to hippies” always makes me laugh!

#48 “Mrs Robinson” by Simon and Garfunkel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnDnJIDdOEc: I don’t quite understand the meaning of this song but I don’t care. I love it!

#47 “The Tide Is High” by Blondie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv_mQIZHeHs: This song makes me smile!

#46 “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWNaR-rxAic: This song is awesome! I think both my and my Neice could listen to this song forever.

#43 “You Can Call Me Al” by Paul Simon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq-gYOrU8bA: I’ve been listening to this song a lot recently. It’s such a great song! I love the slide whistle part in it!

#42 “Daydream” by the Lovin’ Spoonful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9oQE0HZLoo: This song makes me feel relaxed and kinda peaceful.

#41 “American Pie” by Don McLean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAsV5-Hv-7U: I’ve loved this song since I was little. I know all the words and like dancing to the fast part.

#40 “If I Had A Million Dollars” by the Barenaked Ladies”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXdFTh1yX2c: This is a family favourite. My whole family loves to listen to this song. It’s so much fun! Whenever I sing along with it I’m always the echo.

#39: “Firework” by Katy Perry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGJuMBdaqIw: This is such an inspirational song.

#38 “Copa Cabana” by Barry Manilow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKR2n-G-wdM: I will never tire of hearing the story of Tony, Lola and Rico. It ends in tragedy but it’s such a good story and I’ve loved it since I was small.

#37 “If You Were Gay” from “Avenue Q” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSTImrCJCW8: This song is firetrucking awesome! It’s so funny and catchy! I can’t help but sing along and laugh every time it comes on my iPod!

#36 “I Just Called To Say I Love You” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwOU3bnuU0k: This song played a part in my first relationship. I got a text from my boyfriend (who is now my ex) that said “I just texted to say I love you”! How sweet! It’s one of my favorite love songs and I could listen to it over and over again! Stevie’s voice is just so beautiful and makes the song even more beautiful!

#35 “Days Of Elijah” by Hillsong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg1erjHNfCE: This is my favorite hymn. I love singing it and doing the actions.

#34 “Class Of 57” by the Statler Brothers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG5k2QAORsw: This song is really pretty. I hear it a lot on the Cabin Party on VOCM. It makes me smile!

#33 “You May Be Right” by Billy Joel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo9t5XK0FhA: This was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid! I knew all the words and would dance like crazy whenever it came on. I still love it! It’s one of those precious childhood gems that I’ll never get tired of listening to.

#32 “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xmckWVPRaI: I got to dance to this song in science class in grade 8! Firetrucking best science experiment EVER! I will forever love rocking out to this awesome song!

#31 “Video Killed The Radio Star” by the Buggles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8h5OEivJdA: I love dancing to this song on Dance Dance Revolution and I love to sing it too.

#30 “Postcard From Pasadena” by Gord Bamford http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFU9QC_Ex-4: This was the first ever Gord Bamford song I ever heard. I fell in love with it I got to hear Gord sing it live last week and it was even more amazing sung live!

#29 “Dancing Queen” by ABBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFrGuyw1V8s: This is such a fun song! I absolutely love it!

#28 “Ob La Di Ob La Da” by the Beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRtAO-nffz0: A smile comes on my face whenever I hear this song! It’s so happy and fun and ob la di ob la da is such a fun thing to say!

#27 “Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kAU3B9Pi_U: This is yet another old song but it’s awesome!

#26 “Cracklin’ Rosie” by Neil Diamond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qip0xbjr0aA: This is one of my favorite Neil Diamond songs.

#25 “You Can’t Rollerskate In A Buffalo Herd” by Roger Miller http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skFWsc_-i14: This is another fun one! It makes me laugh and makes me happy!

#24 “They’re All Gonna Know” by Shalloway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skFWsc_-i14: This was a song performed by the Shalloway choir for the 2012 Janeway telethon. I loved it so much that I bought it on iTunes (which I reccommend you do because all the proceeds from the purchase of the song on iTunes goes towards the Janeway) and I listen to it all the time! I like to dance to it too!

#23 “Master Of The House” from “Les Misérables” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTZYSzxZcvA: Every time I hear this song I laugh! Sometimes I laugh so much I cry or make my stomach hurt. My favorite part is definately “RAISE IT UP THE MASTERS ASS!” LOL!

#22 “Seven Days Of The Week” by They Might Be Giants http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geTSBFb_GR4: I love the trumpet parts in this song! Also I find that this song is very easy to get stuck in my head!

#21 “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsLyI1_R01M: This is a song that me and Mom both really enjoy listening to. I also love singing the trumpet parts LOL!

#20 “Please Whatever Your Name Is” by various artists http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLQymQC0BYk: this is a song that was written for this years Janeway Telethon. It was written by elementary school kids and recorded by various famous Newfoundlanders. I can’t get enough of it! I watched the video countless times on YouTube and the second I found out it was availlable on iTunes I bought it right away and listen to it numerous times! It’s such a great song that benefits such a great cause!

#17 “I Think I’m A Bunny” by Todd McHatton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcSwDjRu1ug: This is so cute! It’s an adorable and funny song and I love it!

#16 “Country Roads” by John Denver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vrEljMfXYo: Dad used to sing this to me before bed when I was small. I still love listening to this song. It brings back memories of those days and makes me feel happy.

#15 “Ruby Tuesday” by the Rolling Stones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a00_tPLcE_g: This is my favorite Rolling Stones song! I got to sing it on karaoke once at summer camp and I got a huge round of applause afterwards.

#14 “Walk Through This World With Me” by George Jones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEj0juZshVI: I loved The Possum (that was George Jones’s nickname). This was his most beautiful song. I’m so sad that he’s gone. R.I.P George.

#13 “Get A Haircut” by George Thorogood and the Destroyers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOCDoKsXjP0: I have to thank my Dad for this one. He’s the one who introduced me to this song! I sing along with all the words, laugh and dance whenever I hear it!

#12 “Even Seagulls Dream” by Spirit of Newfoundland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6A3aYkVMA0: This is such a beautiful song sung by a beautiful person! Peter Halley Peter Halley has lead vocals on this song and every time that I hear it I’m just transported into this world of calmness, peace and happiness. It can turn my frown upside down and on nights when I’m having trouble sleeping this is the perfect lullaby. It gives me sweet dreams!

#10 “Maybe” from “Annie” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrr3EmaF3gA: “Annie” is my all time favorite movie! This is one of my favorite songs from the movie. It’s absolutely beautiful!

#9 “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” by the Beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrr3EmaF3gA: Even though this is a song about a killer I still really like it!

#8 “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcjzHMhBtf0: This is an amazing song! I sang it with my choir once and it sounded even more amazing!

#7 “Hello Darling” by Conway Twitty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og1QRtcWdEY: This is such a pretty love song. I slow danced to it with one of my stuffed toys once when it came on the Cabin Party LOL!

#6 “Patricia The Stripper” by Chris De Burgh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABwDWwYX0Q4: I dance like crazy whenever this song comes on!

#5 “Tomorrow” from “Annie” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yop62wQH498: This is my favorite song from “Annie”. It’s full of hope and happiness and inspiration!

#4 “Rhythm Of My Heart” by Rod Stewart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6km7phBQRF0: I loved this song for as long as I can remember but I never knew the name. I finally found it out sometime last year! It’s such a great song and Rod Stewart does a beautiful job of singing it.

#3 “Lady In Red” by Chris De Burgh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt2YIpZWBqA: Whenever I hear this song a smile comes across my face and it brings me back to that magical night that I hugged Chris De Burgh. It’s a memory I’ll never forget.

#2 “I Don’t Want To Live On The Moon” from “Sesame Street” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WsXtCPE7Ww: I know “Sesame Street” is a show for small children but this is one of the songs that has stuck with me throughout the years. It’s an absolutely beautiful song that will never get old. I will hang onto this song forever.

#1 “The Rainbow Connection” by Kermit the Frog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSFLZ-MzIhM: Who doesn’t love this song? It’s beautiful! I’m a lover and dreamer and someday hope to find the rainbow connection. I’m not entirely sure what it is but I know that it’s something beautiful and important.
