Hey blog world! Today I got to sing in Church! We had a special VBS (Vacation Bible School) service where we sang all the songs we learned and told everyone about what we learned. It was lots of fun! I had a great time singing all the awesome songs we’d learned! Sometimes I had to look behind me at the monitor to remember some of the actions but I remembered most of them. After the service we got to have a family fun day! There was cake, ice cream, cookies and hot dogs! The food was all really yummy! Especially the cake and ice cream! To drink they had all kinds of sodas. The unfortunate thing is that choosing a drink was more like a guessing game because the ladies who were in charge of the food had everything in cups and didn’t lable them or put them in any sort of order or anything. There were several black colored drinks (Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Diet Coke etc) and you couldn’t tell which was which! I took my chances on the “mystery black drink” as I called it. I think I wound up with a Dr Pepper but I’m not sure. There were plenty of activities too! Our Reverand put his Robin Hood outfit on and took pictures with us, there was a fish pond and a piñata! I won a coin purse in the fish pond. When it came time for the piñata I unfortunately didn’t get to hit it but I did get a load of candy. I counted when I got back to my table and I had 10 things! There’s a little African American boy who went to VBS this week and I noticed he didn’t get much candy. He had only 1 or 2 things so I divided my candy up and I kept 5 things for me and gave 5 to him. He was really really happy! I’m glad I made him happy! I had such a great time today and I can’t wait to go to VBS again next year! Have you ever been to a VBS? Did you have fun? Tell me in the comments!
Hey blog world! I can’t believe VBS is almost over for another year! Tomorrow is the last day! This years theme was “Kingdom Rock”. It was a mideval theme with kings, queens, castles and such. This year was special for me because this year instead of being a camper (I’m too old to be one anymore) I’m a helper! I got to help with crafts! The kids are all super cute and I love each and every one of them! They really seem to like me too! I’ve gotten more hugs from them than I can count! This morning a parent came up to me and said “My daughter adores you!” My day was instantly made! I’m so glad the Children adore me! I get to see 5 groups of kids every day. That’s a lot of Children! Each group is assigned one of the Kingdom Rock animals There’s the horses (a.k.a Duke) , the dogs (a.k.a Truman) , the birds (a.k.a Swift) , the lions (a.k.a Sir Valiant) and the foxes (a.k.a Victoria) . The crafts they made were really cool! I unfortunately didn’t get to make all of them since sometimes we didn’t have enough left but I did get to make 2 crafts (and hopefully I’ll get to make tomorrows too!) I got to make a coat of arms and each day I get to add a new gem onto it, I made a little tumbling thing (it’s a little box with a marble inside and when you place it at the top of a slanted surface it’ll tumble) and I also got to make this really cool prayer box ! I wonder what the kids will be making tomorrow? The food so far this week has been pretty good. Today we had some grapes, goldfish and an English muffin with what I assumed was cheese whiz and some blueberries and a gummi candy. I don’t like cheese whiz so I left the muffin out. Yesterday we got trail mix! It had all kinds of yummy things in it! There were cheerios, smarties, lucky charms, chocolate chips, mini marshmellows and raisins. The day before that was a smore and little kabobs with a piece of ham, some cheese and half a vanilla timbit and the first day was a jam sandwitch with a heart cut out of the middle and a heart shaped cookie! I can’t wait to find out what tomorrows is going to be! The songs this week have all been awesome as well! A big added bonus for me is that this week I got to be the music helper as well! Every day we start with Sing and Play Rock where we sing a few songs before heading off to our activities and me and my friend E.J.M get to go up onstage and sing the songs and do the actions! There were lots of great songs that we sang! My favorites are “Let’s Get A Little Crazy” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9wLHgo_Iys, “Soon And Very Soon” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTBM23mjDC0, “Stand Together” (this years theme song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CehoyNCw4gE and “Stand Strong” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1WiHyy70IM. Also Chadder the chipmunk is back! I’m in the crafts room all day so I don’t get to see the movies. Even though I don’t get to see what happens to Chadder each day I don’t miss out because one little boy in the Lions group (bless his little heart) tells me what happens! It’s gettting pretty interesting so far! I wonder how it’s going to end? The fun definately doesn’t stop when VBS ends tomorrow. On Sunday everyone in camp gets to go to the 10:00 service and we sing all our songs in front of the congregation! That’s gonna be awesome! Have you been to VBS before? Do you like it? Tell me in the comments!
Hey blog world! There are a lot of really cute celebrities that I’d love to go on a date with! Here are some of them!
Peter Halley : He’s a Newfoundlander just like me! He’s a cute one too! I’ve got a big crush on him! He makes my heart race! He’s the director of the Spirit of Newfoundland dinner theatre company. He can sing, act, play piano and he’s really funny. He’s such a sweetheart too! Also he gives great hugs! I absolutely adore him! I would love to go on a date with him!
Mauricio Herrera : He’s incredibly cute and talented! He was a contestant on America’s Got Talent 2 years ago. He’s a showman. He has the most amazing singing voice and is a very good dancer. He’s even got his own signiature pose! How awesome is that? We’re very far apart (he’s in California and I’m in Newfoundland) but someday if possible I would love to go out with Mauricio on a date!
Sean Cullen : This guy is a jack of all trades! He’s on TV, he’s got a podcast, he sings, he does stand up, he writes books. He’s extremely talented with everything he does! He’s also handsome! He’s probably very busy with all the things he does but hopefully he’ll have enough time on his hands to someday go out with me!
Which celebrity would you like to date? Tell me in the comments!
Hey blog world! Last night I was at the Masonic Temple! Me and my Mom, Cousin and her Niece were there to see Spirit of Newfoundlands production of “Go Duet Yourself” ! It’d been 2 years since I’d last seen a Spirit of Newfoundland production (the last one was “ABBA Gotta Get The Scoop”) and I was super glad to be back again last night to see this show! Last month Peter Halley (who I have a crush on) celebrated a Birthday so I decided to make him a belated Birthday card and give it to him that night. I was originally going to give it to him after the show but he came out before the show started to talk to the guy behind the camera (the show was being filmed so they had someone standing in the back with a video camera.) As soon as he came out my heart began to race! It was going a mile a minute! I adore him that much! After he was finished talking to the camera man I flagged him over to my table so I could give him the card I’d made for him. When he got it he was thrilled! He said that I’d made his night! Just by saying that I made his night he made mine! He also hugged me! I was on cloud 9! A short while after I gave Peter his card the meal began. The appetizer was a salad. It had all kinds of yummy things in it! I wasn’t a big fan of the dressing though so I asked for one without. Later on when it was time for the main course I ordered the stuffed chicken. it was awesome! It had cranberries, dressing and lots of other stuff. I really enjoyed it. It came with potatoes, broccoli and carrotts. The carrotts were a bit spicy but not too bad. I really liked the potatoes! After the meal it was time for the show! I really enjoyed it! Shelley Neville and Peter began the show by singing the “All In The Family” theme song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oV5LQcmuGg8. They did a great job of it! Darrin Martin and Sheila Williams (the 2 other people in the show) did a great job of singing too! I loved when Peter and Darrin sang “Cecillia” by Simon and Garfunkel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5_QV97eYqM. Even though they left out the first verse.Sheila was an excellent Anne Murray. She sang “Daydream Believer” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gN37gEKDrM and I was astounded at how beautiful she sounded! She then invited KD Lang out to sing a duet with her. I thought it was going to be Shelley but to my surprise it was Darrin as KD Lang LOL! He actually looked quite good! They sang “A Love Song” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tboKB6DzzD4. We were really lucky last night because we got to see Frank Sinatra (Peter) in a recording session with Julio Iglesias (Darrin). They sang “Summer Wind” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i67ISZKp2iY. Darrins fake Spanish accent was so cool! Peter then asked the audience if they knew of any other duets Julio did with an American artist. My hand shot right up. Peter called on me to answer and I said “He did “To All The Girls I Loved Before” with Willie Nelson” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51tvZnkn5V8. Peter was amazed at how I knew that! He said I was very smart. That made me smile! They then sang the song. Because Darrin messed up the words (purposly to make the audience laugh) they stopped. Peter did a very very special duet. A one sided one. The man did all the singing while the woman sat there and looked pretty. It was “Hello Darling” by Conway Twitty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og1QRtcWdEY. Sheila picked a random girl out of the audience to be Loretta Lynn. I was so jealous of her! I wanted so badly to sit next to Peter put my arm around him and have him serenade me with one of my favorite songs! Before the intermission the cast did a little skit. They said they were all hungry and were going to order out. The meals they were ordering were heart attacks waiting to happen! There was so much grease and gravy and such! Peter ordered a hamburger platter with poutine and I can’t remember what Sheila or Darrin ordered but all Shelley wanted was a few pieces of lettuce. Sheila had to go and poutine that too! With all that unhealthy, fatty and greasy food I thought neither of them would make it to act 2! When the intermission started it was time for desert. It was a Newfoundland trifle. It had jello, fruit, whipped cream, custard and some kind of cake. I ate around the jello since I don’t like it but everything else was really good! I also had a nice cup of tea. When the 2nd act started they did lots more awesome duets! They did a few songs by the Carpenters (“We’ve Only Just Begun” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JgEptmz_eE, “Rainy Days and Mondays” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjFoQxjgbrs and “Top Of The World” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDPMmaHWj1I.) They also did a few Everly Brothers songs. “Wake Up Little Suzy” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CByPkTZtnzU and “Bye Bye Love” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6ZO4MORrNM. They also did a parody of “Bye Bye Love” which one of the members of their band wrote. It was called “Bye Bye Grub”. I can’t remember all the words but I do remember this part. “Bye bye grub bye bye chicken leg hello Jenny Craig I think I’m gonna die bye bye my grub goodbye” LOL! I thought it was hillarious! They also did “The Ballad of Jed Clampett” by Flatt and Scruggs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkRkGCm4atE. A few times during the song they stopped singing and pointed the microphone towards the audience so we could fill in their blank. I knew all the words! A man sitting at the table next to me was amazed by this! He tapped me on the shoulder and asked how I knew all the words. I said it was thanks to my Dad because he introduced me to all this old music. Sheila Williams got to be Tina Turner and I thought she looked so cool! She invited Rod Stewart (Darrin) out and I was thrilled when they sang “Hot Legs” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHcjjxYbgNM because that’s my FAVORITE Rod Stewart song! They also did “Proud Mary” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmH4YlNdWAg. That was super awesome! Here’s a picture of them in their costumes Peter and Shelley got to be Kenny and Dolly . They sang “Islands In The Stream” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQW7I62TNOw. I have no idea how Peter was able to sing this song because he had a stocking over his face LOL! He loked so funny! I can’t imagine how hard it must have been to sing with that on his face! He still did a great job though. As did Shelley. Shelley also got to sing a Newfoundland song! She did “The Northern Lights Of Labrador” by Corey and Trina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5ZRyWGRVqY. It sounded beautiful! The entire cast got to sing “Paradise By The Dashboard Lights” by Meatloaf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C11MzbEcHlw and I loved it! I was dancing in my seat and singing along the whole time! They also did “Time Of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMoMBFhMdDw. I loved that one too! At the end of the show Peter told the audience about the Birthday card that I’d made for him! Everyone clapped and that made me feel awesome! I’m so glad he liked it! When the show was over I got to get a picture with the cast. Peter said “I want to stand next to Leah!” I was hoping he’d say that! It made me feel so happy that he wanted to be next to me as much as I wanted to be next to him! Here’s the picture we got together . Shelley is the one on the left in the Red, Darrin is next to Sheila, I’m next to Darrin, Peter is next to me and Sheila is next to Peter. I also got everyones autographs. My Barbie book is full so I took along my little pink one with flowers on it. Darrin thought it was cute! That made me smile! Him, Peter and Sheila signed it. Shelley took off backstage to get changed. Thankfully Peter ran back and got her autograph for me. That was so nice of him! Then I went into the Screech Room (I think that’s where I was) and talked to Peter for a while before I left. I asked why they didn’t do “Golden Ring” by Tammy Wynette and George Jones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9KniULwvjE. I was hoping to hear it but they didn’t do it. He said that they had done that one in previous shows and it was a great song but he couldn’t fit it into this one. Oh well! Maybe next time! We also talked about school. He’s an ex teacher. He said that he taught music and French! I had no idea he was a French teacher! You learn something new everyday! After talking to Peter I said goodbye and went home. I had such a great night and will definately come back to the Masonic Temple to see another one of Spirit of Newfoundlands shows! Have you seen “Go Duet Yourself”? Did you enjoy the show? Tell me in the comments!

Hey blog world! Today was the last day of school! YAY! I’m so glad the year is finally over! I had a great last day! A few days ago I went to Dollarama to buy gifts for all my teachers. I tried to get stuff I thought they would all like. I had 16 teachers on my list so it was a lot of gifts I had to hand out! I felt like Santa Claus LOL! I was so glad they all liked them! I also took my little notepad/autograph book with me and got all my teachers (and a few of my friends) to sign it! Everyone wrote such nice messages in there. I loved reading them all! I also stopped by the challenging needs classroom to see all my friends and wish them a happy summer. One of them named K.B even gave me a little present! It was this ! It’s such a beautiful picture! I love how she signed her name on it too! I’ve definately gotta find somewhere special for this to go! Later on we had an assembly. The principal talked about new courses that were being offered next year, we said goodbye to the teachers who wouldn’t be with us next year and a bunch of other stuff. It wasn’t much fun. After the assembly we got to go to our homerooms and get our report cards! I’d been struggling in Science and I thought that I was gonna fail but thankfully I didn’t! I got a 50! I was so relieved! Also in the report card I found a bergs coupon! I love bergs ice cream so I was really happy to find the coupon! I’m so glad that I passed grade 10 and also I’m glad that summer is finally started! In celebration of school finally being over enjoy this Alice Cooper song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qga5eONXU_4! What are your plans this summer? Tell me in the comments!
