Hey blog world! Tonight I went to see a show called “Time Of My Life”. It was a tribute to pop music both new and old. It was absolutely amazing! There were lots of performers in the show! Lady Cove Womens choir, Newmans Sound Mens choir, Jazz East, Kelly-Ann Evans and Steve Power. When I got there there was a HUGE line up of people buying tickets. It was so long that it stretched outside the building! Because of all the late ticket buyers the show started off late but I didn’t mind. When the show started Newmans Sound were the first ones up. They kicked off the show with “Some Nights” by Fun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQkBeOisNM0. I was floored by how awesome they were! They also sang “Fragile” by Sting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0sQcC4Duc0. I thought the soloist sounded really nice! Then they did “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE34cSvZCd8. I loved it! Next was Kelly-Ann. She had on a beautiful sparkly blue dress! I absolutely loved it! She looked stunning in it! She sang “The Way We Were” by Barbara Streissand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNEcQS4tXgQ. She sounded really pretty! Then Lady Cove sang. One really cool thing that I noticed about them was that the choir conducter adjudicated my school choir at the Rotary Music Festival last week! It was neat to see her up onstage conducting! Lady Cove did 3 songs as well. They did “Rescue Me” by Fontella Bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwt3kr0_l6I, “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKxodgpyGec and “With Or Without You” by U2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmSdTa9kaiQ. Out of all 3 I think that “Forget You” was definately their best one! Next Newman’s Sound joined them for a song by Coldplay that I’d never heard before called “Fix You” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI-o25K6B-E. Then Kelly-Ann and Steve came onstage and together they sang “Lean On Me” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJZ3bcPr-Ds. I had a lot of fun singing along with it! When that song was over it was time for the intermission. I found that the first act went by really fast! When the 2nd act began it was Jazz East’s turn to perform! Jazz East is a Newfoundland jazz band! I was thrilled to see my music teacher playing the sax in the band! They played 5 songs. They played a 2 songs that I’d never heard before called “A Hymn For Her” and “Tides”. During “Tides” a trumpeter named Pat Boyle played with Jazz East. He sounded really cool! I enjoyed listening to him play! They also played a few tunes by ol’ blue eyes (Frank Sinatra!) “I’m Gonna Live Til I Die” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H92-Ou1OLRE and “That’s Life” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIiUqfxFttM. Steve Power came out again and sang “That’s Life”. He sounded really cool with the band! He also sang “Sway” by Michael Buble http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmYMkl1Grzc. That one was lots of fun! As he was singing it in my mind I was picturing us swaying and dancing together! If only that could happen someday! I’d really enjoy that! To end off the show Lady Cove, Newmans Sound and Kelly-Ann came out and they all sang together! Kelly-Ann and Steve did an epic duet of “Time Of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1QZV1aau7U! They sound amazing together! Then Kelly-Ann went backstage to change and Steve sang “Does Your Mother Know” by ABBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkL7Fkigfn8. I had so much fun with that one! I was singing along and dancing in my seat! When Kelly-Ann came back out she had this crazy, unexplainable outfit on and she sang “Dancing Queen” by ABBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFrGuyw1V8s! That’s my favorite ABBA song! Hearing it tonight made me really happy! The finale was “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLPiYZrwAzU! The conducter of Lady Cove asked us to make this the biggest singalong of “Sweet Caroline” ever and boy did we ever do that! The song was sung with so much energy and excitement! After the show I was totally speechless! I couldn’t think of words to use to describe just how epic and awesome the show was! Kelly-Ann came out and talked to some of the people in the audience and I was so happy to get to see her again! She was happy to see me too! She gave me a hug! I got a picture with her as well! I really wanted to see Steve so I asked Kelly-Ann if she knew if he was still here or not. She said he may have gone home but she’d check. Mom figured he probably already left but I wanted to stay back and see if he could be found. After a few minutes Mom said we had to go. I was a little dissappointed. On our way out we saw Mom’s co workers Son who is in Newmans Sound. I talked to him for a few minutes, congratulated him on a job well done and got a picture. Just as we were about to head out the door I saw Steve! I was so happy he hadn’t left! He gave me a hug, we got a picture together and he signed my program! By accident he broke my pen LOL! He borrowed one from his Dad. He tried to give it to me as a replacement but his Dad wanted it back. Oh well! I’ve got lots of others. Mom unfortunately got us lost on the way back to our car. We had to park at a nearby High school since there weren’t any parking spots at the Holy Heart Theater (where the concert was) and Mom couldn’t remember where it was to! It took us a while but we finally found our car and got home! I had the time of my life tonight and I owe it all to all of the amazing performers! You were all super awesome! Were you at the show tonight? What was your favorite part? Tell me in the comments!
