Hey blog world! Tonight my school had a spring extravaganza. It was a desert and silent auction and entertainment was provided by the students! At first I didn’t even know if I’d be able to make it! The second Dad and I left the house and the door was closed and locked Dad realized he’d left the house and car keys INSIDE! I was freaking out and worrying we wouldn’t make it to the show. I had to call Mom on my cell and get her to drive from my Neice’s Brownie ceremony to the house so she could let us in! Thankfully we made it with plenty of time to spare! When the show started the choir (which I’m a member of) was up first and we sang “Change The World” by Eric Clapton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x11NA63gLDM. I think it sounded really good! Then we had some performances by other students. One girl performed “Stay” by Rihanna http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t7fLDtgtuE, a trio of people (2 girls and a guy) did “Here Comes The Sun” by the Beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj1AesMfIf8 and the girl that performed “Stay” and another girl did a duet of “The Cave” by Mumford and Sons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMO4xdOS5jY. Also someone played the piano. I forget the name of the piece they played! The Jazz band played a song too. They sounded awesome! Next up was a fashion show! The kids in the fashion design class made a bunch of outfits and people got to model them! The students modeled the outfits and also our Vice Principal and some of the teachers modeled as well! That was fun to watch! After the first half of the fashion show we got to have our desert auction. There was an enveloppe on each table and we all chipped in some money. Your table’s turn to go up was determined by how much money you paid. When it was your table’s turn you all got to go up to a big table and pick out a desert to eat while watching the rest of the performances. When it was my tables turn we picked a box of cupcakes. There were 6 cupcakes so we got 1 each. I chose a vanilla cupcake with oreo cookies on it. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. It was quite dry. I washed it down with a nice glass of tea. When the intermission finished we had the 2nd half of the fashion show. I loved all the clothes that were modeled! The students did such a great job! Then 2 students (one on guitar and singing and the other on drums) played “Good People” by Jack Johnson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxuCLopcEy4. I thought they were pretty good. The drummer was quite loud though. After that the Jazz band played one more time. Then someone sang “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKY5rbYm324. Unfortunately the choir was called into the music room so I didn’t get to hear it. Oh well! When we got back into the gym (where the concert was taking place) we listened to the teacher band play. They did “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhwwCWkmYoc and also they did a song by The Who. I forget what it was called! Then to end off the night the choir sang again. We did “We Will Rock You” by Queen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMLiqEqMQyQ. I made a few small mistakes but nobody noticed so that was good! At the end everyone thought we did great! One of the teachers even said “You rocked us!” I had such a great time tonight and can’t wait to see what the choir has in store next! Are you in your school’s choir? Do you like it? Why or why not? Tell me in the comments!
Hey blog world! I was just on Facebook and Billy Eichner (the host of “Billy On The Street”) posted “Will Smith’s producing a new version of “Annie” & I’m next door to the After Earth premiere so I’m leaning out the window screaming “DON’T F**K UP ANNIE!” I really don’t see why they need to remake “Annie” AGAIN! The “Wonderful World Of Disney” 1999 made for TV remake wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. I don’t see any need for another remake! I have a feeling this one won’t be very good either! If the remake Will Smith is doing is not as good as the tear jerking, toe tapping, heart warming masterpiece that was the original from 1982 I will be so upset! They have Jamie Foxx cast as Daddy Warbucks . In the remake they aren’t even calling him Daddy Warbucks! They’re renaming him Benjamin Stacks. I don’t see what the problem is with keeping Oliver Warbucks! I’ve heard Jamie sing before and he’s not bad but I don’t know if he’s quite fit for the role of Daddy Warbucks (a.k.a Benjamin Stacks). They were originally going to cast Will Smith’s Daughter Willow as Annie. I don’t think that would have gone well. The last thing I need to see is Annie whipping her curls back and forth! I’m so glad they decided not to cast Willow. Instead they chose a little girl named Quvenzhane Wallis to play her. She’s a cutie but is she cut out to play Annie? I hope so! I heard they’re gonna keep some of the songs but are cutting others for some additions made by Jay Z. He’s a rapper. I don’t think a rapper writing songs for Annie is a good idea. As for the songs they cut to make room for these additions I really hope they don’t cut “Maybe” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrr3EmaF3gA, “Your Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry79LzkkDb4, “Sandy” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erqdZl44HLo and especially not “Tomorrow” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yop62wQH498! If any of those songs are cut I will be extremely mad! What do you think of yet another “Annie” remake? Will you see it when it comes into theatres? Why or why not? Tell me in the comments!

Hey blog world! I just found out today was Tom T Hall’s birthday! He turns 77 today! He’s a Country singer. His music is played all the time on the Cabin Party on VOCM! He earned the nickname “The Storyteller” because he sings a lot of story songs. He’s written some really awesome fast songs like “A Week In A Country Jail” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGy-EJDpl8o and “Faster Horses (The Cowboy and The Poet)” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFKdXV63_Cc. He’s also written some really pretty slow ones like “Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSMPzYNXyk8. That’s my favorite song by him! It’s so pretty! He’s also recorded an album for Children called “Country Songs For Children”. It includes my Neices favorite song by him called “Sneaky Snake” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnSqOz47NbE. I like it too. It’s funny! He also wrote songs for other people like he wrote “Harper Valley PTA” for Jeannie C Riley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOefY-wjA7U and he wrote “Little Bitty” for Alan Jackson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo2OIUpWznY. To end off this blog post there’s only 1 thing left to say. Have a great 77th birthday Tom T Hall! Hopefully you’ll have many more to come :)!
Hey blog world! Today was fun! I got to go to Staples (an office supplies store) to help out with a fundraiser for Special Olympics! Before I went I got to get lunch at Wendy’s . It was yummy! When I got to Staples I got to sit in a big comfy spinny office chair! I loved that! I was told to get people to donate money and get them to sign their name on a big sticky note that looked like a medal and put it on the wall. Since I would be there for 2 hours I set a goal of $100 because I thought that there would be a lot of customers who would come in and donate. At first I didn’t get too many people. The store wasn’t very busy. I got 2 or 3 but not too many. Some of the people didn’t have money or didn’t want to donate. Oh well! A little while later on 2 other athletes named G and J (just in case they don’t want to be named I’ll only use the first letter) and one of the coaches came by. They weren’t supposed to be there until 2:00 but they came early. They sat down with me and we chatted while waiting for customers. There was a big bowl of candy at the table with us for me to give out to customers as they made their donations. G saw the candy bowl and was in heaven! He took a Strawberry one and the look on his face was priceless! It was like he’d just eaten a lemon! He screwed his face right up! He said the candy was very bitter. I tried the cherry one. It was pretty good. G had been eating a lot of the candies so the coach (who was also his father) created a candy tax LOL! He said the first one would be free but every candy after that is $1. G really wanted to try a pineapple so he payed his dollar and took one. He screwed up his face again LOL! That one was bitter too he said. I’d gotten a few more customers since G and J arrived but I thought that maybe if I pulled out my iPod, played some music and G and I sang along (and maybe danced a little in our chairs) we’d get some more customers. It didn’t bring many in but at least we had fun! At the end of my 2 hours I counted my money and I unfortunately didn’t reach my goal of $100. At least I made it to the halfway mark! I raised $55! I thought that was still pretty good! Afterwards Mom and I went to DQ for some ice cream! That was a really yummy reward for all my hard work! Have you ever had to collect money for charity? Did you enjoy it? Tell me in the comments!
Hey blog world! Today was fun! Even though it rained I went to Thomas Amusements with my friends L.B and E.J.M. When we got there the first thing that L.B wanted to do was ride the Rock O Plane (a.k.a the cages). It’s a ferris wheel that goes upside down. I’m never getting on that! I backed out and watched as E.J.M and L.B rode. After that we went on Catch N Air. It’s a fun ride that goes fast and backwards! I had a lot of fun! Then we rode on the Tilt A Whirl. It spins in circles and goes fast. I’m not a big fan but I got on it anyways. I was frightened! I screamed the whole time (because of that my throat hurt when I got off) and at one point during the ride I got so scared I prayed (I said the Lords prayer.) When we finally got off we were gonna go on the scrambler but we saw a Hits FM car and we were told they were giving away free ice cream so we went over. L.B and E.J.M didn’t want any but I did. She only had vanilla and strawberry so I got vanilla. Since you can’t eat while riding on the scrambler we played some carnival games. We first played one where you had to knock down bottles to win a prize. I didn’t win anything at that one. Then we played a game where we had to throw a dart and if it hit a star we’d win a prize. I won a stuffed banana with dreadlocks and a jamaican hat on. I named him Banana Marley! Then we played a basketball game where if we got 3 baskets we’d win a big prize. I only made 1 so I got a small prize. A purple stuffed starfish which I named Patricia. After winning Patricia we rode on the Tornado. We wanted to spin but we couldn’t get the wheel to turn. Oh well! Next we rode on the scrambler. All 3 of us couldn’t fit in the one car so L.B and me sat in one and E.J.M sat in another by herself. When the ride turned I accidentaly squished L.B. Oopsies! Then once that was done I only had 4 tickets left so I could go on one more ride. L.B talked me into getting back onto the Tilt A Whirl. Again I was screaming the whole time! When I got off I had a bad stomach. Also even though I was wearing mits I lost all feeling in my fingers because it was so cold! I also lost all feeling in my face! I bought some cotton candy then got a ride back to my house with my Neice who was there with her Dad. As soon as I got inside I boiled the kettle to make some tea to warm me up because I was so cold! Then I gave the girls the bracelets I got them from Thailand. They loved them! Next we tried playing the Logo board game but they found it too hard so we stopped. Then I showed them “Please Whatever Your Name Is” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLQymQC0BYk (which in my opinion is the absolute cutest thing ever!) They both really liked it. Then we played Deal or No Deal. I was the banker, L.B was the pretty model in the dress who opened the cases and E.J.M was the contestant. She made $2,200. Not bad. We then did karaoke. I sang “Don’t Come Home A Drinkin'(with lovin’ on your mind)” by Loretta Lynn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBnkAkmLtaw. “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” by Brad Paisley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwRrKaq0IyY, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ9rUzIMcZQ and “Online” by Brad Paisley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE6iAjEv9dQ. I can’t remember all the songs that L.B and E.J.M did. After we did karaoke we played “Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom” on the Wii. We all had lots of fun doing that! The girls died pretty quickly though and water was usually the cause. It was only their first time playing so that was understandable. We all laughed at it! After playing that for a while L.B’s mother arrived to bring the girls home. I had such an awesome day with them (even though it rained) and can’t wait to hang out with them again! Do you like the rain? Why or why not? Tell me in the comments!
Hey blog world! Happy long weekend! It’s the May 24th (or Victoria day as some call it) weekend and we get 3 days off! A lot of people go camping during the May 24th weekend but me and my family don’t. I like spending the 3 days relaxing at home with my family. Also every year to kick off the May 24th weekend I always play this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KybSXc44uI. It’s called “The Pits” and it’s by Buddy Wassisname. It’s Newfoundlands May 24th anthem! It’s a funny song (and video) and it’s the perfect way to start off the weekend! Another great thing about the long weekend is that Thomas Amusements is in town! I’ll definately be going to that! What will you be up to during the long weekend? Tell me in the comments!
