Oldies Music

Hey blog world! I just read my friend Emma’s blog www.ejmsmiles.webs.com and she did a post on her favorite oldies bands and the songs that they sing! She asked readers to post their favorite oldies bands and their favorite songs by them in the comments so I decided to do just that here in this blog post! Here they are!

Herman’s Hermits  (Herman’s the 2nd last one in the photo.) These guys are an English band whom my Dad introduced me to when I was younger. My favorite songs that they sing are “Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv8k0VI9tBc and “I’m Henry VIII I Am” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GisCRxREDkY.

The Rolling Stones . These guys are yet another British group. One really cool thing about them is that the lead singer Mick Jagger appeared in “The Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas”! My favorite songs that these guys sing are “Ruby Tuesday” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DVCgKsqn30 and “Satisfaction” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a7cHPy04s8.

The Carpenters . These 2 are the Carpenters. They’re a family duo. Their brother and sister! Their names are Karen and Richard. Richard is alive still but Karen died of heart faliure which was assosiated with her Anorexia. These guys were introduced to me by my Dad. In his old car he had a cassette tape player and he’d always be playing his Carpenters tapes! I grew up listening to them! My favorite songs that they sing are “Top Of The World” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDPMmaHWj1I and “There’s A Kind Of Hush” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CX83EQA8dc.

What are some of your favorite oldies bands? Tell me in the comments!
