Make a list of movies you believe everyone should see at least once.

Hey blog world! Incase I haven’t already told you (I think I did in “Movie Reviews” but I can’t remember) I’m a big fan of movies! I like all kinds of them but my absolute favorite ones are comedies! I’ve come up with a list of some movies that I think that definately EVERYONE should see! I’ll also post the trailers for them!

“Annie” It’s the classic story of the spunky little redheadded 10 year old orphan named Annie who lives in a crummy old orphanidge but gets quite the lucky break when she gets to spend a weekend with the richest man in NYC named Oliver Warbucks! This movie is totally AWESOME! All the songs are great and the choreography is amazing! Especially for “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here”!

“The Great Outdoors” I didn’t see the whole thing but what I saw was HILLARIOUS! It’s pretty much a family friendly version of “Grown Ups”. There’s 2 people named Chet and Roland (I think their cousins but I’m not quite sure) and they go camping together with their families and hillarity quickly ensues!

“An American Girl Chrissa Stands Strong” This is a great movie for girls ages 7 and up who are being bullied. It’s also a great movie for girls ages 7 and up who AREN’T being bullied! It’s a great movie about 1 girls challenges with bullying and how she stands up and tries to make it stop!

“Spy Hard” I for one don’t like spy movies at all but as soon as I saw the cast for this movie (both my favorite actors Leslie Nielson and Andy Griffith are in it) I decided to give it a try. I really liked it! Especially the part at the very beginning where Weird Al Yankovich sings the movies theme song! There’s 1 part of the movie that even though I thought it was funny I’m not sure was exactly safe. You see the lead character was on a bus and Ray Charles was the one driving it! For those of you who don’t know Ray Charles is blind so he’s most definately not the safest of all bus drivers!

The final movie on this list is “Temple Grandin”! This is based on the true story (either that or it is the true story) of Temple Grandin. She’s an autistic woman that is an expert in the field of animal husbandry and also she’s created a more humane design for the treatment of cows and poultry in processing plants. I watched this movie with my mom last year and I loved every minute of it! Temple is my hero and I’m glad that they made this movie so her amazing story of overcoming her autism can be shared with the world!

My Favorite Song Lyrics

Hey blog world! A couple of years ago before they removed it from the website had this thing called “MyCMT” where you could create an account and a profile and talk and make friends with other country muic lovers. On this profile there’s a small collumn where you can write down your favorite lyrics from a song. There are a lot of lyrics from a lot of different songs that I really liked so I ended up changing it at least once a week LOL! These are some of my favorite song lyrics

“It’s been a beautiful life, oh I’ve been along for one hell of a ride.” This is part of the chorus of the song “Beautiful Life” by Doc Walker. I like this because well that line is pretty much about me! Life to me is very beautiful and boy oh boy I’ve had quite the few adventures during it!

“Raised on the ways and gentle kindness of a small town southern man”. These are from the 1st verse of “Small Town Southern Man” by Alan Jackson. I can’t really explain exactly why I like this. The only way that I can seem to describe it is that well the way Alan sings these words sounds really neat! Listen to it!!

“One is only poor only if they choose to be”. This is from the final verse of “Coat Of Many Colors” by Dolly Parton. The reason why I like these lyrics is because I agree with it. If your a poor person I don’t think that you should let it bother you. Just go on living your life!

“I’ve learned to never underestimate the impossible”. These are the final words of the chorus of “The Impossible” by Joe Nichols (which by the way won an ACMA (“Asbie Country Music Award” for those who can’t remember what it stands for)  for best song in a blog post I made a little while ago!) I like these lyrics because I myself have learned not to underestimate the impossible. Back when Nan was sick no one though she’d make it but she did! Now I know that when something seems impossible there’s at least a 90% chance that it’s gonna happen anyways so don’t think it’s impossible because it just may not be!

These are some of my favorite song lyrics! Are there lyrics that speak out to you or that you really like? Tell me what they are (and what song they’re from) in the comments!

My favorite night of the week

Hey blog world! Out of all 7 nights of the week my favorite is definately Saturday night! Why you may ask? The reason why is because that’s the night of the “Cabin Party” on the radio station 590 VOCM! the “Cabin Party” is basically 4 straight hours of classic country music. Every Saturday night it starts at 9:00 and it ends at 1:00 Sunday morning! (By the way that’s NL time). The “Cabin Party” is hosted by Paul Reins and I honestly don’t think that they could find a better host anywhere else! Paul is funny, has a great voice and sure knows a lot about classic country music! The “Cabin Party” features plenty of different artists like Conway Twitty,Donna Fargo,Buck Owens and Lynn Anderson. Paul even throws in a little CCR from time to time! Not only is there music on the “Cabin Party” Paul also announces birthdays and anniversaries. He also takes requests! If you wanna send in a birthday, anniversary or request just give him an e mail at and also if you haven’t got a radio (or if you don’t live in this province) and you wanna listen to the cabin party just go to and click on the “Listen To VOCM” button in the top right corner! Do any of you out there in the blog world listen to the “Cabin Party”? Tell me what you like most about it in the comments!

The Museum Of Wax

Hey Blog world! Remember the “Madame Tussaud’s” museum that I told you about in the blog post “My New York Vacation”? Well today I wanna tell you some more about it. It’s not just in New York thre are several other locations as well. 12 others to be exact. In total there are 13 “Madame Tussaud’s” locations worldwide! 4 in America,5 in Europe, 3 in Asia and 1 in Australia. I wanna visit each and every one so as of right now 1 down 12 to go. (I sure have a lot of traveling to do LOL!) The one in NYC is really really cool! I’m not sure if it’s always there or if it was just there that day but when I walked in there was a gelato stand in the loby! Gelato by the way is Italian ice cream. It tasted really good! Also I didn’t count them but I think there’s probably 100 or more figures in there. There’s sports stars, actors, singers and even fictional characters! Some of the people there were Rachel Ray,Morgan Freeman,Spongebob Squarepants,Simon Cowell,RuPaul,President Obama and Johnny Cash. Out of all of them Spongebob was my favorite! Also in that museum there was a 4D theater! 4D is basically a movie where your chairs move, things pop out at you and you feel what happens in the movie. I can’t quite remember much about the spongebob 4D one but I do remember that we got sneezed on by one of the characters in the movie who was allergic to pickles. It felt weird but it was really cool! Also in the museum right next to the Simon Cowell figurine there was a candy store. It was pretty much kid heaven because it had any kind of candy imaginable! Root beer candies, licorice, raspberry and blackberry candies, skittles, reces pieces, chocolate covered raisins and nuts, whoppers you name it it was there! Wax figures are of course made of wax so therefore they’re not capable of talking BUT there was 1 wax figuring that somehow was able to talk. It was Simon Cowell from “American Idol”. Basically to make him talk you’d have to sing a song on the karaoke machine that they had set up and he’d judge you on how well (or how bad) you did! I got up and I sang 3 songs “The Sound Of Music” from “The Sound Of Music”,”Maybe” from “Annie” and also “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John (who was also a wax figure featured in the museum). I myself think I’m a terriffic singer but Simon on the other hand does not. I was super mad at him but I realized that he isn’t real so his opinion doesn’t matter. My trip to the “Madame Tussaud’s” museum in NYC was a BLAST and I hope to get to go back again someday (especially since they recently added Lady Gaga to the museum)! If you could go to a “Madame Tussaud’s” museum who’s wax figure would you want to meet? Tell me in the comments!

Halloween costumes the good and the creepy!

Hey blog world! I LOVE Halloween! It’s my favorite time of the year because we get to wear costumes and get candy! I’ve seen lots of creative halloween costumes and also some very weird ones and I’ve actually devised a top 5 list of good and weird halloween costumes and I wanna share them with you! (I have no pictures though so just imagine what they’d look like LOL!)

Starting with #5 on our good list we have my friend Emily and her costume from last year. She was a fork! I absolutely LOVED her costume! I thought it was super creative!

#4 Goes to some grade 8 (but now grade 9) in my school. I don’t know this girl at all. I was just walking in the hallway and I saw her. She was dressed up as the girl from “Avatar”. She had her face painted blue and everything! I thought it was a really really awesome costume!

#3 Goes to my friend Randy! I’m not sure what but he was some kind of monster. When I saw him at my special olympics bowling dance on Tuesday night I had no clue that it was him! His costume was that good!

#2 Goes to my friend Whitney. When we were in grade 5 (at least I think that’s when it was) she dressed up as a laundry basket! She wore one over herself and also she wore a white tank top and a pair of blue jeans. She didn’t win but she was one of the runners up in our school’s best costume contest for our grade that year.

The #1 good halloween costume that I’ve seen goes to Emily once again! This time it’s her costume from grade 6. She was gum stuck to the bottom of a shoe! I think that was a super cretaive costume (and also very awesome looking)! She wore a pink wig a pink suit (with a pillow inside of it I think) and she even glued a shoe to her wig! It was definately the best costume in my class that year!

Now for the weird

#5 Goes to myself actually. I regret it now but when I was 5 years old I was a hotdog for halloween. The reason why I regret this you ask? Well it’s because I wore that outfit to a halloween party and EVERYONE TRIED TO EAT ME! Not my best halloween costume choice! (I also don’t think that I looked too good in it either)

#4 Goes to Sheldon Cooper from “The Big Bang Theory”. On a halloween episode of the show (I can’t remember what it was called) he was going to a costume party at Penny’s and he dressed up as the Doppler effect. What is that anyways? It’s a very very confusing (and also quite weird) costume.

#3 Goes to my grade 6 teacher. He was some kind of monster. He had a mask with a creepy face and the veins showing. Not only was that a weird costume but it was also quite creepy!

#2 Ges to my grade 7 math teacher. At last years halloween party my grade 7 math teacher (who’s a man) dressed up as a nun. He had on a black dress, the hat thingy that they wear and a cross. I think that if a man’s gonna be a nun he should be a priest because that’s the male equivalent. A man should most definately not be a nun!

The #1 weird halloween costume goes to my math teacher. At last years halloween party I was walking past his classroom on my way to another class (I think it was english but I can’t remember). When I passed by his classroom I saw him. He was standing outside his classroom door waiting for his students to come in and he was wearing a costume. This is one costume that I doubt I’m ever gonna forget. He (and let me emphasize this once again HE) was dressed up as Hannah Montannah! Man was that ever creepy! He had on a jean skirt,an orange blouse, makeup (lipstick and eyeshadow) and a blonde wig and was speaking in a Miss Piggy like girly accent. That costume has scared me for life! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget about it!

Those are all the good and the weird halloween costumes that I’ve seen blog world. What are you gonna be for halloween this year? Tell me in the comments!

Hey blog world! In case you haven’t already heard this spring there’s gonna be a CGT (Canada’s Got Talent)! I’m so excited! They unfortunately aren’t coming to NL and at the moment they’re not holding any youtube auditions but I hope they do! If they do I’m most definately gonna sing! They’ve got a host and 3 judges found and the show will be airing sometime in March of 2012 on “CityTV”! The 1st judge that they found was Martin Short!  He’s an actor. He’s been in movies like “Cifford” (he was Clifford),”Santa Clause 3 The Escape Clause” (he was Jack Frost) and “Jimmy Neutron Boy Genious” (he was Ooblar). He has also done a lot of acting on TV. He was on “SCTV” (as himself),”Saturday Night Live” (also as himself) and his most recent TV appearance was in “The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That” (he plays the cat). I really like his acting so I’m very excited to see him as a judge (as long as he isn’t as mean and buzzer happy as our old british friend Piers Morgan). The other 2 judges are people that I’ve never ever heard of. Measha Brueggergosman (that’s quite the mouthfull LOL) and Stephan Moccio. The host is also someone that I’ve never heard of. Dina Pugliese. If they do hold youtube auditions would you try out? If so what would you do? Tell me in the comments!

American Girl halloween costumes

Hey blog world! This is yet another halloween costume post and this time it’s all about the “American Girls”! I’m oly gonna give out costume ideas for the historical girls though because I have no worldly idea how to dress up as any of the girls of the year LOL!

Molly McIntire: You’ll need glasses,a brown wig (in pigtails) and for the clothes you’ve got 2 options. For halloween she was a hula dancer so if you wanna dress like that go ahead but if you wanna dress up in Molly’s normal clothes you’ll need a plaid sweater and a black skirt.

Julie: Albright for this costume you’ll need a white blouse, blonde wig (with one line of hair braided and the rest of the hair left down) and blue jeans

Kaya: for this you’ll need an indian dress and a black wig (with pigtails)

Addy Walker: Addy is african american so you’ll need to cover yourself in brown face paint,a pink dress,a black wig(with a small ponytail), (optional) a brown rag doll and a bonet.

Kit Kitteridge you’ll need a white hat (with an optional light green ribbon tied around it), a short blonde wig, a pink jacket and shirt,a flowery skirt and dress shoes

Felicity Merriman You’ll need a purple dress,a bonet and black dress shoes

Josefina Montoya you’ll need a white (short sleeve) blouse a red skirt and a brown wig (with a ponytail tied together by a blue ribbon with buttercups in it)

Samantha Parkington you’ll need a brown wig with a red bow,a white dress with multicolored stripes,a red bow tie,a gold necklace and a red belt.

Kirsten Larson you’ll need a blue dress,a pink and white striped mini apron,a bonet and her hair is hard to describe so take a look at this picture!

Rebecca Rubin for this you’ll need a red jacket (buttoned up) a pair of black pants and dress shoes.

There you have it blog world! A halloween costume for all of the historical “American Girls” (accept Cecille and Mary Grace. I don’t know how to dress as them so they were excluded)! Going back to my earlier point that I have no worldy idea how to dress up as any of the girls of the year do you have any ideas how to do so blog world? Tell me them in the comments!
